lyrics

I felt it in my skin.
My bones crawled out and my flesh went limp.
As you nestled your pretty little head,
I had a dream that dyin' wouldn't really be so bad.
And in the night
we were swallowed whole
by the monsters in our brain's
and I swear that nothing could feel more like home.

I never knew I could
feel so young again
then when we sat under the moon
on the hill where I played as a kid.
Where I used to play war
and pretend I was older then,
such wreckless, silly games,
and I feel like I am at it once again.

Well if I was lying, I really should confess,
listenin' to eyes so bright I couldn't care less.
In fact before that night I swear I'd be better off dead,
but when I saw the light it wasn't from above it was laying on my chest.

How you rattled my skin and my bone,
my shaky voice as it left my stupid throat.
And we went inside to be with our friends,
all passed out and drunk with such peaceful expression.
And how I dared to be so bold,
I asked you to come to bed so as I wouldn't be sleeping all alone.

Then it hit me just like a wave.
This feeling I had I could never try to tame.
It took me a moment just to try and speak a word,
but when I did the sweetest thing that ever did happen, well it occurred.

And yes I do know we've both been feeling low.
There's a cross on the wall but temptation isn't gone.
When I met you I could've never knew,
how our stars could cross so easily under the moon.

Up on Emerson Hill.
