A collection of folk & blues standards as interpreted by Jackson Cavalier, Rochester NY's very own One Man Band. All the instruments you hear being played on these tracks are being played simultaneously by Jackson Cavalier and include: Suitcase Bass Drum, Tambourine, Shaker Egg, Acoustic Guitar, Harmonicas in the keys of C, F, and A, Kazoo, and of course Jackson's very obtrusive vocal chords.
This Album was recorded live on the 23rd day of June, 2016, at GFI Studios. It is dedicated to the memory of the late-great Dave Van Ronk (AKA "The Mayor Of MacDougal Street) who has inspired me more than any other musician ever has, to hone my craft, and truly learn what it is to be a folk musician. Van Ronk was a mentor during the folk and blues revival of the 60's to many up and coming Greenwich village folk artists (including the likes of a young Bob Dylan), and remained in Brooklyn carrying the torch so to speak of traditional folk music until his death in 2002. The man is a legend and although he passed on many years before I even heard his name, I owe him a great deal and strive to carry his folk music legacy into the future.
